19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev won his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term coach Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first trophy after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.
Victory also signifies he has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one different events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led commentators to wonder if his ability to play at the elite level was over.
But the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform positively, backed up by an better serving game.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.
The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after a lengthy match.
